Pre-K & Kindergarten

Throughout the day Kindergarten students are taught about God’s great love for them, and the need to share His love with each other.

Students are immersed in a literature rich environment as they work on developing phonetic skills, comprehension skills, printing and recognizing kindergarten words.

Art, song, play and explorations are combined with direct teaching to differentiate instructions and encourage students to become active participants in learning.

Math concepts are introduced such as patterning, graphing, calendar knowledge, time and number recognitions and ordering.

Socialization and lessons introduce students to social studies concepts and early science concepts such as plants, weather and magnetism are explored.

First Grade

The students of first grade do a variety of fun activities while we are learning.

A special friend in our class is Jesus.  We will learn how to be his friend.  Some of our highlights during the year are planning our End of the Year Mass, prayer services, and the Way of the Cross.

We are budding authors as we integrate our writing with feasts of the church, holidays and everyday life.

We discover the words of numbers and open the door to reading adventures through our literacy program.

The seasons are integrated and celebrated throughout the curriculum especially in the area of Science and Social Studies.

Field trips enhance our learning. We go pumpkin picking and enjoy cultural plays.
