Welcome to the St. Ambrose School website. Hopefully you will find the
information you need.
I am Sr. Catherine Van Houten, SSJ (a Sister of St.
Joseph from Springfield, MA), and I have been principal at St. Ambrose for eight
years. What keeps me here are the people - staff, students and parents -
and the challenge of building tomorrow today.
St. Ambrose School
opened in 1952 atop the city of Bridgeport and continues to serve as a beacon of
faith and academic excellence. In a society which fosters uniformity, we
celebrate diversity. In a society which stresses individuality, we b uild
community. In a society which breeds violence, we make
peace.
