Admissions
St. Ann School’s admission process officially begins with the annual Catholic Schools Week Open House, typically scheduled for the last Sunday in January. At this time, any available space not taken by re-registering families is opened up to new families. It is very important that parents considering St. Ann School’s Pre-Kindergarten programs, Kindergarten or 1st grade register early at Open House, as available spaces fill up very quickly. New students are not accepted into grade 8.
Families registering between Open House and the end of February will then be scheduled for any of the applicable portions of the admissions process, including:
• A tour of the school • An interview by the principal with parents and the student • Academic Screening • A shadow day, on which the prospective student spends the entire school day with his/her potential classmates. • A reference check with the school the student is transferring from, if applicable • Completion of registration paperwork. Once all initial applicants have been through the above process, the Admissions Team, consisting of the principal and several faculty members, will make admissions decisions. Priority for admission will be given as follows, in accordance with The Diocese of Bridgeport Policy:
Schools of the Diocese of Bridgeport admit students of any religion, race, sex, color, national and ethnic origin. Priority for admission will be given as follows: 1. Re-registrants 2. Siblings of present students 3. Children of active parishioners in local parishes 4. Children transferring from a Catholic school outside the local area 5. Catholic children from outside the local parish area 6. All others All students are admitted on a conditional acceptance for at least one marking period.
Acceptance or wait-list letters to initial applicants are then sent, usually in early April. Occasionally, a student is not accepted. When this occurs, the principal meets with the parents/ guardians to assist in finding other options.
Other applicants may apply for admission to St. Ann School at any time throughout the year. Students may transfer to St. Ann School during the school year.

Tuition
Tuition rates are established annually and announced in early January and posted on our website (click HERE for most recent tuition rates)
Tuition for PK3 and PK4 is very competitive with local day care and nursery centers. In-Parish and Mulit-Child Discounts do not apply to these programs. Financial Aid is not available. However, all or part of your tuition may be tax deductible. Please consult your tax advisor.
We work very hard to keep our K-8 tuition low, so that a quality Catholic education is affordable. Discounts (for K-8) are available for Catholic families active in one of the Bridgeport parishes. Your pastor must sign the Parish Affiliation Form (available by clicking HERE) and it MUST accompany your registration. Forms turned in after your registration has been submitted to the business office will not be accepted. Discounts are also available for multiple children registered in grades K-8.
Financial Aid
Financial Aid is available based on income and household expenses. Forms are available upon request from the school office. The maximum amount of Financial Aid per child is $1500. For re-registering families, there is a strict deadline. For new families, the financial aid application must be submitted with the registration paperwork.
Uniform
Students in grades K-8 wear uniforms, which are available through Blake’s Uniforms in Stratford CT, or online through Lands End or French Toast. Be sure to specify St. Ann School BRIDGEPORT at Blake’s, or use our school code information for the other vendors. This will assure that you get the correct uniform choices.
Our Home and School Association (H.S.A) also organizes a uniform swap, where you can exchange your child’s outgrown uniform for another one.

Lunches and Snacks
St. Ann School utilizes a vendor for its lunch program. The vendor supplies healthy choices at a reasonable cost. All ordering and payment is done online. Children may select from a hot entrée, cold entrée or the vegetarian selection. There is the flexibility of choosing from a variety of drinks, cookies and fruit. Students may choose from the program on Tuesday, but not Wednesday, for example. You may order a week at a time or 1 or 2 months at a time. Re-order reminders are sent via e-mail.
For information or to set up an account, Click HERE.
For those who choose not to use our lunch vendor, students my bring lunch from home. Sodas are not permitted, and depending on the circumstances, you may be asked not to bring certain food products (e.g. nuts because of students with allergies). “FAST FOOD” lunches (e.g. McDonalds, Subway, etc.) are not permitted.
All students are asked to bring a healthy snack to be eaten mid-morning. Only FRESH fruits and vegetables are allowed, and plain water (no flavored waters, etc.). Only items that can be eaten without utensils are permitted, as snacks are eaten while working.
Detailed information on our entire school operations and policies can be found in our handbook. (click HERE).
