Curriculum Overview

Saint Augustine School proudly offers a sound Catholic education in a faith-based environment.  In addition to the daily religion program, core academic subjects of Mathematics, Reading, Language Arts, Science and Social Studies are taught.

We follow an approved Diocese curriculum aligned with the common core standards.

In addition to these core academic subjects, students also participate in Art and Music, as well as Physical Education.  Students in grades Pre-K-8 also receive instruction in computer technology on a weekly basis.

St. Augustine School has a strong Foreign Language Program, offering introductory Spanish once a week for grades 1-3, increasing to two full periods a week for grades 4-8.

Our library provides opportunities for students to develop a love of reading and contains a section for younger students as well as older students.  Several computers are available to assist students with research projects.  Library time is built into the schedules for the lower grades and is integrated with subject areas in the upper grades.  Various programs are conducted to introduce students to the wonder of books, such as the Remarkable Readers Club, and the Governor’s Reading Challenge.
