Library

Our librarian is Mrs. Denise Martin.

Our library was completely renovated 3 years ago. Over 95% of the books currently in our library were purchased during the renovation. The library has 4 computer work stations available for research, etc. It is completely automated including the card catalog and circulation.

Every class visits the library once a week. While the lower grades have story time, the middle and upper grades learn library science.

Gypsy, a trained therapy dog, is our Reading Education Assistance Dog (READ). She visits once a month and small groups of students are invited to read to her. Many times the students selected struggle in reading or don’t like to read orally. This year Gypsy’s “sister”, Mika, also came once. Mika is in training to be certified as a therapy dog.

The library is open 3-4 days a week after school until 3:00pm.
